Welcome to WeRetreat

Welcome to we-retreat.com's, and our very first blog post!
Would you believe the idea for We Retreat came about at the end of 2020. The year that was. The year that was trying. The year that was tiring. The year that was, in actual fact a window for inspiration.
Inspiration to not only really prioritise taking care of ourselves, but an inspiration on how we can also help to take care of others at the same time. There was a huge gap to for a platform that encompassed all forms of wellness for both men, women and families at every age and every stage. An online platform where our guests could search and book in one place. And if we can build a business that allows you to take care of yourself and use part of profits to allow us to help others…aren't we then truly winning?

And so a journey began, and an idea was born. A year of study, research, brainstorming, testing and discovery followed. What I found along the way was a space to create a health and wellness platform that delivered retreats, workshops and training in one space. In doing so though, We Retreat would support the very industry it so strongly believes in by donating a portion of profits back to the health and wellness providers we work with so they can carry out pro-bono work where they feel it is needed in the community. And so both the idea and the name came to life. We (community) Re-treat (pay it forward).

Since then we are excited to announce We Retreat has some amazing providers on board, a new partnership, new investment and we-retreat.com has finally launched in 2022. And we are continually growing the We Retreat Whanau each week with new and exciting health and wellness providers.

The most exciting part, is that the We Retreat Charitable Trust is now a confirmed charity and thanks to our amazing peers at Koller & Co accounting we can drive a business forward that will truly serve a purpose as a portion of our profits will be set aside to support the important work our amazing health and wellness providers here in New Zealand.

So whether you are looking to join an escape yourself, gift a much needed wellness experience to a loved one or friend, or organise a corporate wellness workshop we invite you to follow our journey, share your own experiences, insights and dreams as we venture into this exciting space together.

Yours truly,

Natasha Waddleton

Charitable Trust

We Retreat was founded on the basis of making profit for a purpose. For every experience booked via our website we set aside a portion of our profits so we can fund work where it’s needed in the community.

This is the mission of the We Retreat Charitable Trust*. We give our providers the opportunity to apply for funding that can help an individual, charity or group, who they know really needs it. The funds will give them the means to carry out pro-bono work within the community.
